The Government of Canada announced more than $8.5 million in funding for 40 artificial intelligence projects across Atlantic Canada, helping businesses adopt new technologies, boost productivity, and grow our region’s economy.
One of the recipients is Kardio Diagnostix, which is receiving $200,000 to further develop its AI-driven pediatric cardiac technology.
Following the announcement, I had the opportunity to meet Dr. Robert Chen, a constituent of Sackville–Bedford–Preston and co-founder of Kardio Diagnostix. A pediatric cardiologist with more than 30 years of experience, Dr. Chen is helping lead work that blends decades of clinical expertise with artificial intelligence to give families faster answers and reduce wait times to see a specialist.
This technology has the potential to help clinicians identify issues earlier, giving families faster answers and helping reduce wait times to see a specialist.
