June marks Filipino Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the rich history, vibrant culture, and enduring contributions of Filipino Canadians from coast to coast to coast.

Communities across Canada will come together to share traditions, stories, food, music, and culture, and to honour the generations of Filipino Canadians who have helped shape our country. On June 12, 2026, we also join the global Filipino community in commemorating the 128th anniversary of Philippine Independence.

Today, nearly one million Canadians claim Filipino heritage, making the Filipino Canadian community one of the largest and fastest-growing communities in the country. Filipino Canadians continue to make invaluable contributions across every sector of Canadian society, from health care, caregiving, education, and public service to entrepreneurship, skilled trades, the arts, and community leadership.

This month is an opportunity to recognize and learn more about the Filipino Canadian community and the valuable role they play in building a stronger, more open, and more diverse Canada.
