From June 19 to September 7, 2026, Canadians can once again enjoy free or discounted admission to some of the places that help tell our country’s story.
The Canada Strong Pass is about making it easier for families, young people, and visitors to explore Canada — from our national parks and historic sites to museums, galleries, and train journeys across the country.
At a time when costs remain a concern for many households, this is one more way the Government of Canada is helping make summer more affordable while encouraging Canadians to choose Canada as their travel destination.
What You Need to Know
The Canada Strong Pass is not a physical pass. There is nothing to purchase, sign up for, or collect.
Canadians can simply visit participating Parks Canada sites, museums, galleries, or book eligible VIA Rail travel to benefit from free admission or discounts.
This year’s Canada Strong Pass includes:
Parks Canada
Free admission for all visitors to national parks, national historic sites, and national marine conservation areas administered by Parks Canada, plus a 25% discount on camping fees.
National museums and the Plains of Abraham Museum
Free admission for children and teens aged 17 and under, and a 50% discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.
VIA Rail
Free travel for children aged 17 and under when accompanied by an adult, and a 25% discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.
Participating provincial and territorial museums and galleries
Free admission for children and a 50% discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.
There will be many participating provincial and territorial museums and galleries across the country. Before planning a visit, residents are encouraged to check directly with each site to confirm participation and details.
