During Men’s Health Month, we are highlighting an important milestone: the development of Canada’s first-ever national strategy focused on the health of men and boys, which is set to be released later this fall.
Over the past several months, thousands of Canadians participated in a broad and inclusive national consultation to share their lived and living experiences, concerns, and ideas.
Participants spoke about mental health, loneliness, social isolation, physical health, social connections, work, education, and the importance of having access to support when they need it.
The national conversation was launched on February 23, 2026, and began a three-month process to gather insights from Canadians. As part of the engagement process, over 5,000 individuals completed the online survey, and hundreds of others provided input through roundtables and written submissions.
The Government of Canada is working with Movember Canada, as an independent convening partner, to engage relevant sector experts, leaders, academics, and stakeholders in informing the development of the federal Men and Boys’ Health Strategy.
Health Canada will analyze the results to develop a strategy that will promote safer and more inclusive environments, reduce stigma, and encourage men and boys to seek help when they need it.
With this work, Canada will become one of the first countries to publish a Men’s Health Strategy, alongside Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Malaysia, and Brazil.
